Design Wars: Back to School Challenge

It has been a busy summer, but I'm excited to be participating in the Design Wars Back to School Challenge! This challenge kicks off on August 3rd with designer introductions. The week after that, you'll get to see our sneak peeks, and one more week after that will be the final reveals!
This challenge includes 6 designers that were tasked with creating a brand new pattern within the "back to school" theme. My competition fellow challengers include:

Tricia from Cuddlepie Crochet

Viktoria from CrocheTrend

Crystal from Crystalized Designs

Pam from Sincerely Pam

Sascha from A la Sascha

These ladies are some of my very favorite designers, and I'm honored to be working with them!

A few of the other ladies made really cool introduction videos of themselves.  I really hate being on camera (I roll my eyes a LOT, and I don't know why), so let me tell you a little about me. :)
I'm Danyel, and I'm the owner of Danyel Pink Designs!  I am originally from Chicago, but I now live in Washington state.  I have been crocheting since 2007.  I have 3 kids, and they're the inspiration for many of my designs.  I love cupcakes and anything rainbow-colored.  I have been a part of Design Wars since the very first round, and I have enjoyed it very much!  I have made many new friends, and DW has inspired me to create some of my very best designs!

We were allowed to choose our own yarns for this round. For my "Back to School" design, I chose Caron Simply Soft Party yarn. It is an acrylic, worsted weight yarn plied with a strand of metallic thread to give your crocheted projects a little shimmer. This yarn comes in a nice selection of lovely colors, and it's quite soft! It's perfect for hats, scarves, or any other garments you like to make. Each 3 oz skein contains approximately 164 yards of yarn, and costs around $4.49 each. I like this yarn very much, and I have a skein of every color in my stash!

Watch for the DW Back to School challenge to begin this weekend, and I hope you enjoy it! :)
