CROCHET PATTERN - Lacy Lattice Scarf

The stitching on this scarf reminds me of a fancy garden trellis.  The Lacy Lattice Scarf can be worked up in any length/width, and looks great in solid or variegated yarns.  The lacy, openwork design makes it perfect for all seasons.  It works up quickly, and only uses about 200 yards of yarn.  Great gift idea!

Yarn:  Approximately 200 yards of your favorite worsted weight yarn.
The yarn in the main photo is a variegated, hand-dyed superwash merino from Yarn Baby LLC.  The yarn in the stitch sample below is Lion Brand Heartland.

Supplies:  I (5.5mm) crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors.

Stitch Guide:  ch(s) - chain(s), sc - single crochet, hdc - half double crochet, dc - double crochet, st(s) - stitches

Gauge:  Not critical to this project.

Here we go...

Ch 18 for a skinny scarf (~4.5" wide).  Ch 22 for a standard scarf (~6.0" wide).
Or ch any multiple of 4 + 2.

Row 1:  Work (sc, hdc, dc) in 2nd ch from hook, * ch 2, skip next 3 chs, (sc, hdc, dc) in next; repeat from * across to last 4 chs, skip 3 ch, dc in last ch, ch 1, turn.

Row 2:  Work (sc, hdc, dc) in 1st dc, ch 2, skip (dc, hdc, sc, and ch-2 space), (sc, hdc, dc) in next dc, * ch 2, skip (hdc, sc, and ch-2 space), (sc, hdc, dc) in next dc; repeat from * across to last 2 sts, skip hdc, dc in last sc, ch 1, turn.

Repeat Row 2 until scarf reaches desired length.  At end of last row, do not ch 1 or turn.  Fasten off & weave in ends.  Add tassels to the ends if desired.

Happy Crocheting! :)
