I bought these battery-powered bubble blower wands for my kids. You dip them in the bubble solution, push the button... and Voila! Bubbles! Hundreds of bubbles!
My daughter is 19 months... so the "old-fashioned" bubble wands end up going straight into her mouth. My son is 3 1/2 and can sometimes blow the bubbles, but most of the time he chooses to wave the wand wildly & flings soap everywhere. These magic bubble wands are much less messy.
So, I'm thinking these magic bubble wands are genius... but then I started feeling like a bad mom. Like I'm turning my kids into lazy little bums. Sure, this is easier & the results are better... who doesn't love instant gratification?? But isn't part of the fun actually blowing them yourself? There are so many other electronic toys out there... should BUBBLES be powered by batteries too? Ugh.
Maybe I should just enjoy the satisfaction of watching them play outside instead of watching TV.... AND my golden retriever won't fetch worth a crap, but he'll chase bubbles all day long.
More bubbles + more fun for the kids + more exercise for the dog = more quiet time for me.
My vote = genius. But what do I know?
My daughters got one each as a party favor last year... got caught in the hair of one of them... not a pretty sight! :)
ReplyDeleteYep, my daughter got it stuck in her hair yesterday. I had to trim a little of it, but it wasn't a disaster.
ReplyDeleteI vote Genius!
ReplyDeleteThey are good to give mom a break from blowing bubbles for the kids to chase!
ReplyDeleteNot lazy at all!!!!! We have one of the big ones that sit on a table and we get plenty of exercise running around popping bubbles! So my vote goes for GENIUS! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhere can I get the bubble wands???? Do you have the name of the manufacturer or the store or anything that would help me locate some of them.
ReplyDeleteMy grandson who is only 18 months fell in love with it, but the dogs ate the plastic. I now have a very, very, sad grandson :(
